So when do we get down to brass tacks?
Easy - as soon as you have a patient to schedule! It’s best to reserve a day or days ahead of time; either once, twice, thrice or . . . fource a month. (There is no such word as fource. I made that up.)
Seriously though, the first time I should see just one patient, and it should be a relatively routine tooth – no partially erupted 2s or 15s in bucco-version. I try to place my instrumentation as efficiently as possible and each office layout is different, so I need to get my two cassettes and three trays in efficient positions. Think of trying to prepare your signature gourmet meal in someone else’s kitchen. This is also an opportunity to work with your dental assistant so we can get our procedure as efficient as possible.
